There’s no better way to kick off your Turkey Day than hitting the roads for a good cause. You can still register for the Y Turkey Trot Charity 5K in Towson! The race starts at the Orokawa YMCA, heads around West Chesapeake Avenue to Allegheny Ave, and finally to Dixie Drive, right back to the Y. The route is a simple loop that is great for any level runner. Or, if you just want to get out and enjoy the fresh air, you can walk it with your family and friends instead and skip the friendly competition. The other perk is when you register for the race it comes with a 30-day complimentary YMCA membership, so you can try it out if you’ve been intrigued by what the facilities can offer as the months grow colder!

Proceeds from the race support the Y Open Doors Fund, which provides subsidized access to the YMCA on a sliding scale basis for families and youth who may not be able to afford membership otherwise.
